matte_screen is the physical embodiment of a virtual self conceived in 2016 by Oakland-based producer Chris Wood. Probing intersections of social performance, android fantasy, and empathic longing, matte_screen's story is one of transformation and crumbling boundaries. Their debut 00GENESIS tells this story in baroque, haunting detail, from cyberspace to embodied potential and beyond.
